Re: Constant access

Hi, sorry for the delay. No, I don't have anything set in that field. However now I'm not sure what to think, as I have HDS running to look at that option and the drive is quiet (no access). Lately I've just been shutting it down when I start up the notebook (by habit). So I'm no longer sure that HD...

Re: Constant access

I'm guessing this is related. Not that I get a buzzing sound, but my drive similarly makes a regular sound every 5 seconds or so, a kind of "dagug" noise (not overly harsh but definitely noticeable). This is on an external USB 3.0 drive, a WD Black 2TB. The activity indicator on the case f...

Re: Disconnecting eSata drive

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. I'll look into the drivers you mentioned. Re: Disconnecting eSata drive

Thanks for your quick response, even on a Sunday! I've never really paid attention to speed, as I usually turn on the external drive, start the backup, and walk away. That was before I tried HDS, so now I can actually monitor the transfer rate. My MB doesn't have an alternate Sata controller; can I ...

Disconnecting eSata drive

Hello, I'm testing out HDS on my system and so far only one issue has come up for me. I have external eSata drives that I turn on/off and swap in/out on a regular basis. I'm using WinXP (which doesn't officially support this) and found a way to hot swap the drives: turning on isn't a problem, and be...
