just updating and get this windows error:
"deta.dll has stop...."
any solution? vers 4.5 works fine

Hi,

Do you use an Adaptec RAID controller card?

Generally, the deta.dll is used to communicate with Adaptec RAID controllers. Version 4.60 has an updated version of this file, which may seem not really perfect on your system. You may need to update the drivers for the Adaptec RAID controller by the recommended drivers from the Driver Zone page: www.hdsentinel.com/driverzone.php

I'd suggest to use the Report menu -> Send test report to developer option in version 4.50, as then it is possible to investigate the situation there, verify how things can be improved.

driver changed, downgrade to 4.5.16

It seems the IBM ServeRAID 8k/8k-l Controller in your system does not respond when the specific detection code (which is designed to collect hard disk status on this controller) started - and this external module (DETA.DLL) stops working.

Interesting, as used many of such and similar 100% compatible controllers and never experienced similar (with both Hard Disk Sentinel 4.50 and 4.60)

As I see, you tried driver 5.2.0.18300 from the Driver Zone. What happens with the 7.1.30034 version? ( http://www.hdsentinel.com/driver/adaptec7.zip )

Did you try to install the RAID manager tool provided by the manufacturer?
Just to check if that works, can access at least the controller, the drives (and/or may repair a possible corrupted DLL file or so).
