Graph is not reflecting correct health status

Post by saarr600 »

A new drive was installed.
After 2 days health dropped, and the graph was showing totally different values: the graph showed 52% while the bar shows 100% (SPCC).
After a couple of days, the graph is showing 99% again, which also does not reflect the information in the bar (showing 100%).
What could be the explanation for that?
Thanks!

I can confirm that the graph is reflecting the correct health status. This is possible when the Health % value of the drive increases back.

The Help describes:

At the bottom of the panel, the graphical history of the previously measured disk health values is displayed. Hard Disk Sentinel saves and displays the daily worst (lowest) health value measured every day and these values are displayed on this graph.

So if the Health increases back - then the graph is still showing the lowest value for that corresponding day, exactly to increase attention to a possible temporary lower Health % value.

Thank you for this useful information.

Having said that, what could possibly be the reason for several different new drives to show the same behavior as the following:
A very major change in a very new drive's health, jumping up and down unrelated to anything (these drives are not working hard at all).
Also, when the other two drives were pulled out of the specific machine, the are showing 99%-100% health (using HDD Sent and other tools) and worked flawlessly.

Thanks!

Too bad I do not get any reply.
Attached is the information I am seeing today, which again, makes no sense to see a drop to 52% of health, on a new drive.
I am trying to understand where these readings are coming from and why am I seeing that.

Thanks!

Please check the Log page. That should show the change of the attribute(s) which can indicate temporary lower Health value.
Probably weak (pending) sectors appear - which can then disappear after some time.

From the images, I also see no more details. Instead of these photos, I recommend to use Report menu -> Send test report to developer option as then it is possible to check the actual situation.
Please send multiple developer-reports: one when the Health is high and one when it is low - as then it is possible to compare them. This may help to reveal the real cause of the fluctuation which is usually related to something in the operating environment (cables, connection, chipset driver or so).
