Re: Oldest HDD; wrong power on time
Got it. Already emailed you back about it. Anything else you need from what you've asked?

Re: Oldest HDD; wrong power on time
Thanks for the fix hdsent. Do you have a estimate on the new test release with the fix in place? Also, I still haven't seen you put that feature request yet about changing the dates to add years as well. Is that still in the works or its been postponed?

Re: Oldest HDD; wrong power on time
Hey there hdsentinel, Thanks for the response as usual. Strange, I extracted the .rar and downloaded the file attachment on the forum just fine. Are you using the latest WinRAR 5.21? Well in any case: Hard Disk Summary ------------------- Interface . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : S-ATA II Di...

Re: Oldest HDD; wrong power on time
Hmm can't attach .txt or larger image resolutions... well at least .rar works. Wish you would just let users get instant post instead of having to wait for moderation approval. Or at least have them on approval for instant post if the users have been constant with the posts they do that isn't I gues...

Re: Oldest HDD; wrong power on time
Does this help? Thing is I use HDS from time to time to check up on HDD's and yes, before it used to report 2700+ days until recently where it now just reports 24 days. I installed the stable version to see if it was just beta related but it doesn't seem to be the case. From what I deduced, the Powe...

Oldest HDD; wrong power on time
My other drives show the correct power on time date except my oldest 500GB hdd. It should be 2400+ days for it but it's only showing 22 days, 16 hours. What happened? Using latest beta 4.60.8b.

Re: Power on time in years?
Is this an alternative way you've provided or were you mulling about how you would implement that requested feature? Was trying to find this switch you were referring to in the beta.

Re: hdsentinel prevents spin down
Arghh. Sucks I can't see the post I just posted prior to this to edit it but I found this quote: "You can save energy by letting the disks spin down. If they are 7200rpm disks they will use 6-9W when idling, or 0.5W when spinned down. But spinning down and up alot will wear the drive and potent...

Re: hdsentinel prevents spin down
I read of a myth that constant spin down/ups shortens the lifespan of said hdd. Is that any way true? Like turning on a light switch which drains more energy starting it back up than if you were to just leave it running. Think this was the case with some WD hdds though I can't recall as I remember r...

Re: HDD health accurate?
Damn... didn't think I would get a nicely put coherent response in great detail. Thanks for the info there hds, really appreciate it. I apologize if I called your app a "complainer" instead of just informing me. Was just confused with the status giving the all green on all the tests I did....

HDD health accurate?
After seeing 27% acceptable health on one of my hdds, I decided to do numerous tests to see the results of these tests. All of them came back positive yet only HDS is complaining of this low health status. I first did chkdsk error-reporting via windows and to fix any errors and recover bad sectors a...

Power on time in years?
Minor request but, would you consider adding the option to show years as well instead of just days, hours?
