Re: Estimated remaining lifetime i

Sorry, do not really understand what is the question. Please check the Help, it explains the Health and Performance values. Generally the Health reflects the actual status of the drive, how "good" it is. The Performance reflects how fast is the actual drive in the current system, is there ...

Re: Self-Test

It is related to the drive itself. Generally it is the responsibility of the drive how to accept the special commands like short self test / extended self test (or the command to cancel the running self test). Hard DIsk Sentinel attempts to send the proper command - but yes, sometimes (depending on ...

Re: Estimated remaining lifetime i

Without seeing the status, Health, hard to say but probably no, no need to worry. Generally the Estimated Remaining Lifetime is calculated based on - how long the drive used (the Power On Time value) - the current Health % The estimated remaining lifetime is not a strict countdown,it will not show w...

Re: How to restore all data after Windows reinstallation.

Yes, if you still have the old (original) system, and if you want to save all settings, statistics, registration/license info, please use Configuration -> Update -> Backup configuration to save all settings, statistics, logs, etc to a single file. After installation of the software on the new instal...

It is not enough to save any files as some the details are stored in the Windows registry. If you want to save all settings, statistics, registration info, please use Configuration -> Update -> Backup configuration to save all settings, statistics, logs, etc to a single file. Re: Starting a surface scan

No, I can confirm that for safety, it is not possible to start disk surface test on disk drive(s) by a shortcut or similar.
Surface tests can be only started from Disk menu -> Surface test window (on one or more, even all disk drives).

Re: Space Indicators buttons/tabs missing

Hard Disk Sentinel saved the position of the separator between the list of physical / logical disk drives, so yes, the left bottom section may be not visible eg. if the screen resolution / DPI changed. The easiest way is to completely close Hard Disk Sentinel by File -> Exit and then delete the file...

Re: Disk Health Drops from 100% to 17% in 6 day with 552 bad sectors (in 1 day) appearing on log

I'm afraid yes, what you see is completely "normal" (even if not expected). Generally any disk operation (file copy/move, defragmentation, antivirus scan, disk testing with Hard Disk Sentinel or any other tools) can reveal bad sectors. Depending on the drive and the usage, bad sectors may ...

Re: "Pending Sector" increase when I perform "Reinitialize disk surfac"

On the first image, error 433 appears during the disk test, which means that a device (the disk drive) previously available is no longer connected, just like if we'd disconnect its cable. This is why all further blocks are red, as the drive is no longer accessible. Usually this error confirms proble...

Re: Some unpredictable output via hdsentinel on MegaRAID

Yes, I'm afraid this is completely normal and expected, absolutely not a bug/limitation of the Linux version of Hard Disk Sentinel, but a generic bug/limitation of the MegaRAID under Linux (so I moved the topic). Under Linux, I'm afraid with MegaRAID it is not possible to map which physical drive is...
