System crashing, is my SSD failing?

I bought a laptop a few months ago and it was great until recently it started freezing. About 10 times now it has completely frozen, the only way to fix it is to restart.

The only hardware error that I'm suspicious of is the 128GB sk hynix sc308 SSD. When I first ran HD Sentinel the SSD health was at 97%.

Running HD Sentinel shows that the health of the SSD has fallen 20% in the 3 months I've had the laptop, the 1TB HDD is fine.

Is this normal SSD deterioration?

Here's two screenshots of the HD Sentinel info.

Thanks.

Mitch7,

1) You may want to upgrade to the latest version of HD Sentinel (HDS). If you search the forum for Hynix, you'll find a thread (in Hungarian - use Google translate to read it) that states that older versions of HDS don't produce the correct values for some Hynix SSDs. Not sure if it will solve your problem, but it's worth trying.

2) You may also want to register your copy of HDS. If you've already paid, but hadn't yet entered your license key, then posting a screenshot showing that your copy isn't registered, MAY be the reason nobody had previously responded to your post. If you haven't paid, then do so! Paying $20-$30 (depending on the version) for a program that helps you prevent data loss should be a no-brainer.

After you've done the above 2 steps, post here and let us know if installing the latest version of HDS has fixed the problem or not.
