How can we disable HD Sentinel's use of the GPU?

Any ideas, thoughts - not necessary related to Hard Disk Sentinel.

How can we disable HD Sentinel's use of the GPU?

Post by h3x »

My GPU reports that HD Sentinel is an active and constant 3D process maintaining a presence on the GPU. Is there a HD Sentinel setting to disable this and rely on "software" (CPU) processing only?

Other software that do this typically provide an option in settings to "Disable hardware/GPU acceleration", but I don't see an option for this in the settings. Some other programs provide this option through commandline switches, e.g.

Code: Select all

example.exe --disable-gpu /nogpu -disable-hw-accel
, but it doesn't appear Sentinel utilizes this either.

Is there a way to prevent Sentinel from maintaining a handle on the GPU as a 3D-mode process, relying only on software/CPU/2D processing?

Thanks.

Thanks, but I'm afraid what you saw is not correct.
I can confirm that Hard Disk Sentinel does NOT use the GPU at all, does NOT contain any kind of code which would perform any 3D processing - so there is nothing to disable/adjust.
