Hard Disk Sentinel version 4.50 released today.

The list of most important changes in this version:

- Disk -> Short self test, Extended self test options available for SCSI and SAS hard disks
- option to disable "Always-on-top" behaviour of Status Windows
- added support for Promise 4650, 8650, 16650 SATA/SAS controllers
- added support for LSI SAS3 (SAS 12G) 3008 Fury Series SATA/SAS RAID controllers
- added support for IBM SATA/SAS and Broadcom / RaidCore RAID controllers
- advanced error logging, improved SSD health reporting on various newer SSD models (Corsair, Crucial, Kingston, Sandisk, etc)
- improved and added support of various RAID controllers (LSI, IBM, AMD, etc.)
- fixed "connection timeout" errors displayed with @gmail account
- improved support of Windows 8.1 OS

New Hard Disk Sentinel version 4.60 released and available for download.

It is possible to update with the automatic update from the File menu or by downloading and installing the new version to the same folder where the previous one installed (no uninstallation required, just close the running Hard Disk Sentnel version completely by File -> Exit before installation).

If you have successfully registered and activated any previous version, the updated version will be also registered and activated.
If you plan to download manually, please make sure you download the correct version you already have installed (standard or PRO).

- added support for NVMe SSDs: detecting temperature, health, features, complete self-monitoring S.M.A.R.T. data
(tested with INTEL SSDPEDMW400G4, INTEL SSDPEDMW012T4)
- new function: determine file stored in any sector, useful to get information about possible damaged files on unreadable sectors.
(works on NTFS/FAT32/FAT16/FAT12 volumes, hard disks, SSDs, removable drives, pendrives, memory cards)
Disk menu -> Surface test -> View -> Click on a sector to view the sector contents and then on the bottom click on "Detect file information for sector"
- new option: automatically detect and report all possible damaged files at the end of the complete surface scan.
To enable, select Disk menu -> Surface test and in the new window, select Configuration tab.
On the bottom, there is a new option: Detect file information for sectors with errors
- new option: double click on the "power on time" label or value to show in years / days / hours format (when the device is older than 1 year)
- improved Adaptec RAID controller support
- improved power on time calculation

New Hard Disk Sentinel version 5.01 released and available for download.

Now with 5th generation of Hard Disk Sentinel, it is possible to not only detect status of hard disks, SSDs, hybrid drives and drives with internal or external RAID controllers / enclosures, but also possible to determine status of additional NVMe SSDs, industrial (micro) SD cards, SATADOM devices and tape drives too!

The new version has numerous new functions for example the Disk repair test which performs easier and faster repairing of weak sectors. Multiple disk testing is possible with some clicks - and version 5 has new integration / alert functions too (providing status by WMI, using Windows event log, perform detection based on the actual disk utilization just to name some of the new options).

Hard Disk Sentinel version 5.70 released and available for download.

This version of Hard Disk Sentinel is a major update: it has improved compatibility for many hard disks, SSDs, hybrid drives, RAID controllers, docking stations, USB-NVMe adapters and so. The updated version supports the latest Windows Insider Preview Builds too.

It is possible to update the existing version by the automatic update from the File menu - or by manual installation of the updated version to the same folder where the previous one installed (after a complete close by File -> Exit but no uninstallation required) to automatically use all previous statistics, settings, logs, registration details. If you prefer to download manually, please make sure you download the correct version you already have installed (standard or PROFESSIONAL).

If you have successfully registered and activated any previous version (with your personal lifetime license), the updated version will be also registered and activated.

If a promotional license used, the updated version may no longer accepts the license and will work as "unregistered" version.
