I noticed on the install version of 4.17 Pro, that the icons are scattered around the system tray in no particular order, and in my case, 2 of 9 icons are missing. When I run the Portable version, all of the icons are in a nice row and all of the icons are present and accounted for and are in Drive # sequence.
The drives who's icons are missing in the install version show up with good information in the panel. I thought at first it might have to do with drives not fully spun up during boot but I exited the install version and started it back up with the same result.
Any ideas on how I can configure the install version to present the icons like the portable version?
Thanks,, Dave

Re: 4.71 Pro Icons
Generally, the installed and Portable version should work same way, as there is no difference in terms of how the icons displayed.
Hard Disk Sentinel has options to enable/disable displaying tray icons: it is possible to enable/disable which hard disks should have icons on the tray.
By default Hard Disk Sentinel assigns icons to all drives where the temperature information could be detected (the hard disk / SSD has a working temperature sensor). If some of the tray icon(s) missing, I'd recommend to check if they are not disabled: please open Configuration -> Hard Disk Drives page. There in the list with a double click on any drive, you can toggle if that particular drive should have OR should not have tray icon displayed. The column "Tray Icon" shows "Visible" if the software is configured to show the icon for the particular drive.
If "Visible" is there and the tray icon is still hidden, then Windows may hide it automatically. Windows lets you configure which icon(s) should appear on the notification area.
Also only Windows is responsible for the order of the icons: Hard Disk Sentinel can only show or hide the icons, but can't really affect the order of the icons at all.
Hard Disk Sentinel always maintains icons together, exactly to keep them displaying next to each other. With older Windows systems (eg. XP) this method works correctly: the icons usually stay together.
Under newer systems, this may be not true. Windows offers option to rearrange the icons, so you can drag them and move in the notification area, but it may not always save the order.
No, I can confirm that drive spin up does not affect this behaviour.
If changing the actual tray icon settings does not help, it may be good idea to try a "fresh" installation of Hard Disk Sentinel: uninstall it and try to install into a new, empty folder. This way you can check what happens then, when the factory default settings used - and Windows may not use any customized setting (orders, option to hide/show) of the tray icons related to the software.
