Extended self test
Extended self test
I ran the Extended Self-test on a large drive and it was going to take about 16 hours. Because of the long duration I set the test to background mode and forgot about it. By the time I remembered about the test the next day it seems to have already completed. The progress bar was gone and there were no error messages or any information at all. Overview says the disk status is Perfect. There's nothing under the Log or Alerts tab at all. Is there a way to check the results of the self-test or should I assume everything went fine?

Re: Extended self test
Please check Information page -> S.M.A.R.T. details section.
This shows the last short / extended self tests with
- the complete duration (elapsed time) of the test
- the date/time of the test
- the result of the test (for example successfully completed)
So it will show the details of the last extended test.
You may enable Configuration -> Advanced options -> Automatically save disk test results to folder option.
This way when any test (short/extended/surface test) completed, a log file updated with the results and then all details saved automatically: complete disk report about the status after short/extended tests, disk surface map and all details (image/text files) after all surface tests.
