Read-Write-Read
Read-Write-Read
My previous computer was Windows 7 based on which I used a tool to refresh stored data on my HDDs. My current computer is Windows 10 based which is not supported by that tool. I’ve read various comments by people that say HDS does the same thing by using “Read-Write-Read”. I don’t see this option anywhere. I’m using the standard version and was wondering if it’s available in the Professional version as it’s not listed on the website.

Re: Read-Write-Read
The Read+Write+Read test is available in the Professional version.
See the list of tests in the Help, which describes it:
https://www.hdsentinel.com/help/en/61_surfacetest.html
Read + WRITE + read test (refresh data area) (Pro version only) - Reads stored data from each blocks, writes back the contents and finally reads the information and compare with original contents. By the extensive test, an additional write cycle is used before writing back the contents to improve the efficiency of the error correction (drive regeneration).
Please note that this is possible only on secondary disk drives (hard disks, SSDs, memory cards, pendrives etc.) which can be unmounted from the system.
So not possible on a system drive which contains Windows or files/folders used by the active system.
