Disc icons on the taskbar

Post by soyo »

Hey HD Sentinel. Got a quick question to you.

I have a couple of my disc's shortcuts on the taskbar, and what happens is, sometimes those icons are the native windows icons, and sometimes I notice they are switched to the themed hdsentinel icons (that show the hard drive filled space, and if the harddrive's state is ok).

I wanted to ask, if there is some bug which makes the HD Sentinel themming not being shown there all the time, since when I open windows explorer, the HD Sentinel Themming is always there.

cheers

Hi Lucas,

Thanks for your message and question.

Generally, as you can see when you open the Explorer, the hard disk icons properly configured by Hard Disk Sentinel - as they always displayed there correctly.
The problem is that Windows may "cache" the icons and may display a previously saved (non-themed) icon from the icon cache on the task bar.

To investigate this situation, when the icons on the task bar is non-themed, you may try to clear the icon cache of Windows and check if them the icon is updated and displayed properly. Please search for "clear icon cache" or "rebuild icon cache" for different solutions, for example described at http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/49 ... build.html or http://superuser.com/questions/499078/r ... -rebooting )

Hope this helps ;)
