I recently purchased Hdd Sentinel Professional and installed it (v5.20 9372), but I have different and random errors when I want to save the screenshot from Disk surface map or Temperature and transfer speed tabs. Some HDDs work smoothly, but on others it does not want to save me anything or just one of the tabs.
From the error, I noticed that the application is inserting bad characters in the file name that I want to save without having the ability to edit that area. I even deleted the file name and wrote a word like "asd" and still did not want to save it.
I have no problems with my SSD or my folder or permissions in the folder where I want to save. As long as some tabs are saved, they should all be saved correctly.
If I let the window open and after a while (let's say, 20 minutes) I try again to save the screenshot... it works.
This is very strange behaviour and time consuming.
I-am using Windows 10 Professional with English (US).

Re: Cannot save screenshot after surface test
Thanks for your attention. Very interesting.
Generally when the save dialog used, Hard Disk Sentinel uses a Windows function to display the standard dialog box and then only proceed with the file name it got from the system.
I can confirm that Hard Disk Sentinel does not insert weird characters in the name, it just uses as received from Windows, then it saves by that file name. The file name can be the default (constructed by the model, firmware, serial number of disk for easier identification) or modified, manually entered.
So I wonder why/how the system inserts such invalid characters and provides that as selected/specified file name.
Even more interesting how things may work differently after some time, there should be no difference, as generally (when the test completed) there is no activity in this window.
One of the windows showed the "Not enough storage is available" error provided by the system.
It is an interesting error and can happen even on a new system with lots of RAM and disk space, when the system has running out of resources - and this may cause some buffer error or so.
If you search for this error message "not enough storage available to process this command" you may got some information about it generally.
I'll examine the possibilities about how to improve the situation in this case.
As always, if you use Report menu -> Send test report to developer option, it may give ideas, thoughts about the actual situation.
In worst situation and especially if you perform many tests, I'd recommend to enable Configuration -> Advanced options -> Automatically save disk test results to folder option. This way all images, screenshots, error logs and further details will be automatically saved to specified folder after the test. As the dialog will be not displayed at all, the proper file names used and the files should be saved correctly then.
