Advanced Power Management
Advanced Power Management
Is there any help on this? When I press F1, I get the help for Acoustics.

Re: Advanced Power Management
This setting controls how the internal Advanced Power Management (APM) function of the hard disk drive should work.
There are different levels defined by the manufacturer of the hard disks, which controls if the drive should work in higher power saving mode but with less performance (if you move the slider to left to "Minimum power consumption with standby") or with more performance, but using more power (if you move the slider to right to "Maximum performance and power consumption").
Generally, you can control this balance, just like when you control the Acoustic settings (that time you can define the balance between noise level vs performance).
Also it is true for both functions that some hard disk controllers may block these commands (do not pass them to the hard disk, even if it's supported).

Re: Advanced Power Management
I really find this function button very helpful.
