I have Win7pro64 with AMD RAIDXpert, AMD Chipset SATA Controller ver 3.3.1540.35
RAIDXpert shows two WDC WD5003ABYX-01WERA1 in RAID1 configuration, with one disk on target 1, port 1, and the other on target 1, port 2
HDSentinel 4.20 PRO reports only one WDC WD5003ABYX-01WERA1 on AMD AHCI Compatible RAID Controller (RAID), Bus Number 0, Target Id 0, LUN 0
How can I make HDSentinel discover both disks?
Only one disk showing with two disk RAID1

Re: Only one disk showing with two disk RAID1
I'm afraid this is not possible.
I'd be happy if this would be a bug in Hard Disk Sentinel (then it would be possible to improve the situation) but this completely independent from the software, it is a limitation of this RAID controller (more precisely, its driver installed) so no software can display more information.
This is why you can see the notice "the RAID controller provides information about only one device per array" for AMD RAID controller at
http://www.hdsentinel.com/compatibility ... ollers.php
where you may see more better, supported controllers.
I'd recommend to consider a better RAID controller, for example a LSI or HighPoint controller as they are fairly priced and offers far better functionality, stability, compatibility and performance compared to this one.
We constantly push AMD to improve their drivers to allow accessing all disk status.
They seem ignore such requests which is really shame for YOU, for the user who selected their product.
Anyway, if you prefer, you can contact AMD directly about the issue, hopefully for greater pressure they'll change their mind.
Of course as soon as it is possible to detect and display complete status, Hard Disk Sentinel will surely do it. You'll be notified if you subscribe our newsletter and/or if you visit www.facebook.com/HDSentinel where the updates are displayed as soon as released.

OK, I see.
I'm looking at an inexpensive Intel as replacement, do you have any info about compatibility with Hard Disk Sentinel.
Intel RMS2LL040 SAS Controller - Serial ATA/600, Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) - PCI Express 2.0 x4 - Plug-in Card - RAID Supported - 0, 1, 1E RAID Level - 2 MB (spec says it has LSI* SAS2008 IOC controller)
It's four ports but I'm only using two for RAID1, and maybe one for spare.
(edit) Seems this is not standard PCI Express interface, will not fit on my MB, so not an option for me.

Re: Only one disk showing with two disk RAID1
That particular model not yet tested, but I suspect that should work without problems.
As you can see on Support -> Compatibility -> Hard Disk Controllers ( http://www.hdsentinel.com/compatibility ... ollers.php ) page, there are numerous Intel SAS/SATA RAID controllers supported - and LSI SAS 2008 supported in general.
There are different Intel SAS controllers with standard PCI Express x4 or x8 connection which should work correctly.
