3Ware 9650SE-16ML - Fully Working

Just to provide feedback that finally I have found a controller that seems to work fully and supports ALL functions, including the much needed advanced power management (APM)commands. This works also for the automatic-change at system boot-up, i.e. the feature found in the latest beta releases that will automatically change the drives power management settings each time HDSentinel loads. Have all 16 of my drives changing to setting 127 at boot-up so that they go into full spin-down mode when idle.

Just thought I would provide this feedback so that other people can have confidence that it *should* work because it does for me!

Running Windows 7 64-bit, latest MS drivers for the raid card
Running the RAID card in JBOD mode, and using Flexraid software in windows
Obviously you need drives that support this power management feature, and I am using ST3200542AS
