1. launch any surface test for selected partition only.

For example, i have large HDD. "read+write+read" test require 18 hours to complete (3Tb, just finished to complete on my server). I saw "bad block" message in event log, so i want to check the surface for system partition first (this is critical, partition is only 100 Gb). After that i may check (or will not) the rest of the drive - it is not so important for user.

2. Backup/restore/copy partition (like Easy US to-do backup, Partition Magic etc).

I am ready to pay again for HDSentinel Prof version for this feature emeditely to have all features in a single box. No need to implement advanced features like "incremental partition backup, file backup, user profile backup" or "file restore" etc, but complete partition backup / restore will be very useful on my mind. Seagate DiskWizzard looks like manufacturer utility declared as "support Windows all", but require Acronis license to run on Windows Server (crazy 600$ per server) even if i don't need 90% of features.

Generally, Hard Disk Sentinel works independently from the actual partitions / logical drives, but yes, it may be good to work (diagnose / test and perform other functions) for partitions also.

To test a particular area of the hard disk, you can use the following method:
1) Select Disk menu -> Surface test
2) in the new window (where you can select the test type) click on the Configuration tab and select "Limit testing of specific data blocks" and specify start/end block. Each block represents 1/10000 area of the complete disk surface, so on a 3 TB hard disk, it is approx. 300 MB.
If you prefer to test the first 100 GB on this hard disk, you can select to test blocks 0 - 334

Thanks for the suggestion about the backup/restore/copy. It may be available in a later version.
