"Remaining Time" in Surface Test Progress

Post by oj888 »

The current "Progress" section on the Surface Test window provides information about the elapsed time ("Time") and total time ("Est."), which is somewhat good. However, I sometimes have to run diagnostics on several 2-4TB drives which technically takes days to almost a week to complete (ie. Writing zeros). Would it be better to have the "Progress" pane include more useful progress information like:

Est. Remaining Time - Indicates the estimated remaining hours:minutes:seconds until the task is finished
Est. Date/Time of Completion " - Indicates the date and time the task is estimated to be finished

Example:

Remaining Time (hh:mm:ss) - 49:32:44
Est. Date/Time of Completion (mm/dd/yyyy, hh:mm:ss)- 04/17/2015, 18:54:32

This way, it's easier to create an alarm reminder on when I should check the disk diagnostics/test results.

Thanks!

Thanks for the tip, yes, these may help to check the progress and the end time of a test (especially if it's really long and takes too much time).
