Surface Test is really a time-consuming operation on very small files (eg 1b - 1MB) in huge amounts, which causes (not many hours!) But many days of uninterrupted drive, which significantly reduces disk life, or even killing the disk completely, if the drive is reporting problems! The disk is working hard, non-stop!
I am asking for the improvement of the tool, the addition of the possibility of interrupting the operation (saving the session) and the completion of the operation at a later time.
Or the ability to set the scan range and even without scanning all partitions (only individually)

Yes, that's true. A complete disk scan requires long time but it's normal

Sorry, but I'm afraid this is not true.
The Surface test function performs disk test at sector level. It means that it completely ignores the file system, does not care if the drive may have lots of small files, fragmentation etc.
So even if there are lots of small files, the Disk Surface test is as fast as possible - and there is no delays/slowness caused by the files.
Because of its nature, the Surface test function can be effectively used to test drives even if there is no partition(s) defined, test/verify both partitioned and unpartitioned areas and drives where partitions unreadable - or just formatted under Linux/MAC OS and so.

Yes, that's true, this is exactly the purpose of the testing: to reveal problems - or confirm if the disk is working correctly.
But you can stop any time.
You can pause if you prefer (just click on the disk surface map) or you can click on the STOP button to cancel the test.
No need to run the complete test - you can pause or stop any time.
Also you can perform partial test any time, there is absolutely no need to test the complete disk area.

It is possible to set scan range of course.
Please select Disk menu -> Surface test and before starting the corresponding test, on the Configuration tab, you can enable "Limit testing to specifc data blocks" and set First block and Last block to be tested. The disk surface is divided to 10000 blocks, so for example if you specify
First block = 9000
Last block = 9999
then the last 10% of the disk drive will be tested.
