Ability to set individual temperature thresholds for drives

Post by dr0 »

Hello. For HDDs recommended operating temperature is much lower, whereas SSDs, especially NVMe, can run much hotter, and that is usually considered to be normal. It would be nice if we had a chance to set individual thresholds for each drive.

Of course this is possible for many years.
Please open the Temperature page of any disk drive (hard disk or SSD) and in the upper right corner, there is an option
"Set custom temperature thresholds".
By that, you can configure different yellow/red (warning/alert) temperature thresholds for the hard disk / SSD.

You can have different thresholds for any (even all) disk drives.

Please check the Help, it also describes the custom temperature thresholds:

Oh, sorry, I didn't know that it was already possible. Thanks for pointing that out.

I came here to make the same request--I looked in the application but did not see a way to do this. I was looking in the main program options (Configuration > Thresholds / Tray Icon), because that is what made sense to me.

Please see above, it is already available for long time ;)
Yes, there you can configure the GLOBAL temperature thresholds.

And as I wrote, it is possible to configure individual thresholds if you select the particular disk drive and (as I wrote)

Please open the Temperature page of any disk drive (hard disk or SSD) and in the upper right corner, there is an option
"Set custom temperature thresholds".
