Sorry, but the problem is probably that the software terminated/forced deleted - as then it had no opportunity to restore the icons.
Upon normal closing / uninstallation, the icons are of course restored to defaults automatically.
I can recommend to try to install again as previously, start up as normal and then completely close by File -> Exit.
Then the icons will be restored immediately. If you uninstall normally, they will be also restored to default icons.
Generally you can disable changing the icons at Configuration -> Advanced options -> Disk Control, just disable the "Modify default hard disk icons in Windows Explorer" option.
