HDS doesn't detect SMART info after update to Intel RST 15.9

Hi,

after updating Intel RST ro version 15.9.0.1015 all drives on the Intel chipset are no longer viewed in HDSentinel. Is this problem known?

Sounds interesting.
No, this is not known: according the tests and reports, things work perfectly with 15.9: the detection works without problems for SATA and NVMe (M.2) SSDs too. (driver 15.9.0.1015, date 10-12-2017 for Intel(R) Chipset SATA/PCIe RST Premium Controller)

Can you please check with the latest 5.01.11 version and use Report menu -> Send test report to developer option?

That may help to check what can be wrong on your system with this driver.

I received the report and everything is working perfectly.
Both the drives in the Intel RAID array completely, correctly detected according the report.

Es wurden 1 schlechte (Bad) Sektoren auf der Plattenoberfläche gefunden. Diese können bei späterer Verwendung der Platte remappt werden.

Der Zustand der Festplatte reicht noch nicht für einen Garantietausch beim Hersteller aus. Erst bei weiterer Verschlechterung kann eine RMA beantragt werden.
Es wird empfohlen, das Protokoll des Laufwerks regelmäßig zu untersuchen. Alle neu gefundenen Probleme werden darin protokolliert.
Keine Aktionen erforderlich.

There are in total 6 HDDs connected on the Intel RST. Only two are listed actually. Some of them can be found in the list of status of offline disks.

Can you delete the serial number etc. from the report?

From the report, yes, I see that there is an other array - but when Hard Disk Sentinel tries to enumerate it, the driver only provides that there is 1 drive only - and does not provide any details/information about the actual members. The software does not get any further information about any further drives/arrays on the controller.

Not sure what is the bug in the Intel driver - especially if things worked perfectly previously - but would be nice to investigate its bad response and find if there is something to improve. For this, I'd suggest to please start in "testmode" with /ENABLETEST /RAID switches to output all raw response we got from the controller.

I can delete the serial numbers from the report - and even delete the reports after evaluation if it makes things sure to you.
For me, the serial numbers are not interesting - just only for one purpose: to identify WHICH drives can be accessed and which are not (in case if some are missing and you have similar drive models).

So curious to examine what bug present on your system in the driver - and I suspect would be good to mention to Intel too.....

The updated 5.01.12 version has improved support for Intel RST controller and recent drivers, so it is recommended to try that version in case of similar issues:
